Our top 5 plant-based drinks this Veganuary

It’s January. All the festive excitement has passed. We are all now focusing on our resolutions and being healthier. For many of us, this may mean taking part in Veganuary and being more conscious of our meat consumption. But taking part can also change your coffee order. Or maybe you already follow a plant-based diet. We’ve got out 5 best vegan drinks that may just change your order permanently.

Starting things off

CRÈME BRÛLEÉ LATTE

A twist on a classic in plant based drink form. This is definitely my favourite – dessert-based beverages. What’s not to like?!

You will need;

  • Double espresso
  • DaVinci Caramel syrup or Salted Caramel syrup (1 pump)
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • Flat milk (of your choice)

METHOD (12oz):
Brew a double espresso and then add 1 pump of syrup and 1 teaspoon of brown sugar. Mix until it’s dissolved. Top with flat milk & garnish with brown sugar. You may wish to toast the brown sugar with a torch.

Vegan latte

VEGAN LATTE

Ok ok, we had to have a simple plant-based latte somewhere. After all, it is January and some of us are trying to watch our waistlines. You can easily add syrup to this too; most are vegan but be sure to check.

What you will need:

  • Double espresso shot
  • Steamed mylk* (oat, almond, coconut and soya)

METHOD (12oz):
Add espresso shot to a 12oz cup (and a splash of syrup if you want). Top with steamed dairy free mylk of your choice.

Next in the line up

WINTER FOG LATTE

As much as we want it to be spring, it’s still winter, so we still need to be kept warm. This latte is a smooth mix of creamy almond, velvety vanilla with hints of bergamot. A great alternative for when you need a twist on your usual latte.

What you will need:

  • Suki Earl Grey tea (pyramid or loose)
  • DaVinci Vanilla syrup (2 pumps)
  • Steamed almond mylk

METHOD (12oz):

If you are using loose tea, add 1 scoop to a tea pocket. Brew tea in a dash of boiling water for 3 minutes. Remove tea bag from the cup. Add syrup and steamed mylk.

Chai latte

VEGAN CHAI

Ok, this one isn’t coffee so to speak, but it’s a perfect balance of spices mixed with creamy oat mylk. Topped with cinnamon to give it an extra kick, this is my go-to order when I don’t fancy a coffee.

What you will need:

  • Mumbai Railway Chai (1 tbsp)
  • Boiling Water (100ml)
  • Oat or Soya Mylk

METHOD (12oz):
Add chai powder to a mug with boiling water and whisk. Top with you choice of steamed mylk. Garnish with a dust of chai powder.

You can also make this is in summer as an iced version.

CARAMELISCIOUS ICED CARAMELOAT MYLK

Let’s just say we’ve saved the best till last.

What you will need:

  • DaVinci Caramel syrup
  • Oat Mylk
  • Espresso
  • Ice

METHOD (12oz):
Fill glass with ice cubes.  Add 2 pumps of caramel syrup and top with oat mylk to almost full. Slowly pour over freshly extracted espresso. Now, enjoy!
