McLeish Retail store is currently our furthest North Smokin’ Bean retail outlet, situated in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. Store Owner, Scott Graham and the team run a fantastic wee shop, supporting local businesses, selling fresh produce and serving freshly made sandwiches. They are proud to be a local store serving the community.
Smokin’ Bean coffee to go really supports McLeish’s focus on environmentally friendly packaging solutions. Scott says “As a responsible retailer, we are constantly looking into our overall carbon footprint, we believe this is very important.” The furniture you see surrounding the coffee machine features rustic wood that is PEFC, meaning the wood is sourced from small forest owners promoting sustainable forest management. Scott says “At store level we are looking at the packaging we are using both with coffee cups and sandwich wedges”, so Smokin’ Bean’s sustainable takeaway cups were a good fit for this eco-focused retailer.

“We have the smallest Smokin’ Bean modular unit available (the Coffee Point) and it really jumps out to the consumer” says Scott. Even though it fits under 1m2, the premium look and brightly lit branded sign catches the eye of passers-by. The Smokin’ Bean Coffee Point has been installed close to the entrance of the McLeish store next to the large window, allowing customers to see both in and out.

With a large range of fresh bakery items, freshly prepared sandwiches and even an ice cream counter, McLeish’s really know how to make an impact with food to go varieties in store. These foods to go items pull customers in at different times throughout the day, so it’s very important in store to have a wide range of availability to cater to all potential customers.
Since installing Smokin’ Bean in store, McLeish’s cup sales have increased tremendously. Pre-Smokin’ Bean, they were selling up to 40 cups a day. Now, they are doubling those figures, selling over 100 cups per day on busy days. Their monthly average is usually between 70-80 cups per day! Scott says “We love Smokin’ Bean; it is a premium coffee to go brand. Not only that, someone is always at the end of the phone when we need them.”
